Skin Allergies:

Skin allergies are caused by allergic reactions that occur on or under the skin.

Types of Skin Allergies 

• Eczema (atopic dermatitis) - skin condition usually caused by allergies
• Hives (urticaria) - red, itchy, swollen areas of the skin that can be caused by a food or drug allergy
• Angioedema - swelling of the deeper layers of skin that may cause anaphylaxis (fatal allergic reaction)

Treatment

The key to treating skin allergies is to avoid the triggers that cause the allergic reactions or control the symptoms with antihistamines or topical corticosteroid creams prescribed by your doctor.
