Allergic Rhinitis:

Allergic Rhinitis are allergies that affect the nose.

Types of Allergic Rhinitis 

• Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever) - Allergies that affect the nose during certain times of the year (spring or fall). 

• Perennial Allergic Rhinitis - Allergies that affect the nose throughout the year. 

Symptoms 

Common symptoms include nasal congestion, sneezing, watering eyes, itching, headaches, sore throat, loss of senses and cough.

Treatment 

Avoidance of triggers is the best treatment against allergic rhinitis. However, avoiding triggers may be impossible so doctors recommend antihistamines and decongestant medications or immunotherapy (allergy shots). Skin testing can also help determine the treatment that is right for you.
