Weily Soong, M.D.
Board Certified in Allergy & Clinical Immunology

Dr. Weily Soong is a native of Birmingham. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School, Birmingham-Southern College, and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and remained at Yale for his Allergy and Clinical Immunology Fellowship training. Dr. Soong is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is Board Certified in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Soong firmly believes that patients always deserve the highest quality of care for their allergic and immunologic conditions and that the treatments for their conditions are scientifically proven and evidence based. Patients should always be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Dr. Soong has many interests in a variety of allergic and immunologic conditions, including asthma, food allergies, chronic urticaria, and primary immunodeficiencies. Dr. Soong also is a member of the Clinical Immunology Society and participated in the 2004 School in Primary Immune Deficiency Disorders.

Dr. Soong is very active in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors of FOR Nicaraguan Health. This Birmingham-based medical mission organization helps indigent people in Nicaragua. Dr. Soong has traveled with the group to Nicaragua many times. At his church, he created a monthly lecture series called "Ask the Doctor" that allows the congregation to discuss the most common and relevant medical diseases.

Dr. Soong and his wife, Lauri, have a daughter, Katie, and a son, Will. He enjoys playing tennis, watching baseball, and doing home improvement projects.

Maxcie Sikora, M.D.
Board Certified in Allergy & Clinical Immunology

Since Dr. Sikora is a naturally curious person, the field of allergy and immunology has been the perfect choice as a profession. Every day, the understanding of the immune system’s role in the overall health of our bodies grows.  To be a part of this process is very exciting for her. It is also very rewarding to pass this new knowledge on to her patients to help improve their quality of life.

As a lifelong allergy sufferer, Dr. Sikora understands the importance of appropriate medications and procedures in treatment. Food allergy is one of her interests because it affects every aspect of a patient’s life as well as his or hers family’s life. Assisting families with the diagnosis, avoidance measures, lifestyle changes, and treatment of allergies is very rewarding.  With appropriate management, her patients are able to lead healthy and productive lives. As an allergist, Dr. Sikora strives to always provide up-to-date patient care with kindness, humility, and respect.

Dr. Sikora worked with Ochsner Allergy Clinic in New Orleans and is happy to be relocating to Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center and is looking forward to meeting you.

Dr. Sikora is Board Cerftified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. She received her Doctorate from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL. She completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL and her Fellowship in Al
lergy and Clinical Immunology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, where she was also a former Assistant Professor.  Dr Sikora is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology 

James Bonner, M.D.

Board Certified in Infectious Diseases

Dr. James Bonner is a native of Michigan.  He graduated from University of Michigan Medical School and completed his Fellowship in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he continued to work for over 25 years.  Dr. Bonner is also a Professor at the UAB School of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine.  Currently Dr. Bonner is on staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham.  Dr. Bonner serves on numerous committees and boards throughout Birmingham.  He enjoys patient care and his interests are in Urticaria, Angioedema, Asthma, Season Environmental Allergy, Food Allergies, Venom Allergies, Infectious Disease and the treatment and prevention of Anaphylaxis.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Immunology, and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Bonner is Past President of The Alabama Society of Allergy and Immunology,  Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Physicians.  He is a member of the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Physicians, Medical Association of the State of Alabama and others.

John Anderson, M.D.
Board Certified in Allergy & Clinical Immunology

Dr. Anderson trained at UAB and Childrens Hospital.  He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the Ohio State University in Columbis, Ohio. He is a member of The American College of Physicians, The American College and Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and The American Thoracic Society.  He is Faculty at The University of Alabama, Birmingham and plays an active role in training the Allergy Fellows. He is the recipient of several awards for outstanding performance in Medical School and during his Allergy Fellowship training.  Dr. Anderson believes in spending the time needed to answer questions and make sure his patients leave feeling better and well informed.  He enjoys painting, dancing, geneology, and horseback riding. He and his wife and children reside in Mount Olive, Alabama. 

Meghan Lemke, M.D.
Board Certified in Allergy & Clinical Immunology

Dr. Meghan Lemke graduated with her medical degree from the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. She continued to train in medicine and completed her Residency Program and her Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN. Dr. Lemke is Board Certified in Pediatric Medicine and Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Lemke chose a career in medicine because she loves science and working with people. She chose allergy in particular because she enjoys studying the immune system. Because asthma, allergic conditions and immunology treatment requires ongoing management over time, she enjoys really getting to know her patients and building long-term relationships. Dr. Lemke finds reward in watching the care she provides for her patients result in an ongoing better quality of life including breathing easier, exercising without limitations and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Lemke feels she is an excellent listener which helps her treat her patients. She feels it is most important to develop a strong working relationship between the physician and the patient or parent. Dr. Lemke strives to inspire her patients to take an active role in managing their disease with her assistance.   

Dr. Lemke lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband and two young children. She enjoys community events, reading, running and home décor. 

Patricia Luthin, CRNP
Certified Asthma Educator

As a Nurse Practitioner, Patricia has the unique opportunity to assess, diagnose and treat patients while staying true to the Nursing profession. She enjoys teaching patients and their families about the diseases and explaining the different treatments that we prescribe. Patients are much more likely to follow a treatment plan if it is tailored to their particular medical condition and their specific social and emotional needs. It is her job as a Nurse Practitioner to work with the patient to formulate the best plan possible.

Patricia believes that all professionals should help educate the young up and coming students in their profession. She has been a nurse educator for many years and has served as a clinical instructor for undergraduate nursing students in the inpatient hospital setting. Most recently she has been an instructor for the Family Nurse Practitioner program at University of Alabama Birmingham. Patricia also enjoys being a mentor to other nurse practitioners by precepting students at Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center.

All in all, Patricia’s 11 years of Nurse Practitioner experience tells her that we all desire the same thing: to be treated with respect and to be treated as an individual by a knowledgeable and understanding health care provider. She strives to meet these goals with each of you at Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center.

Patricia is married and has 2 young sons. She and her family enjoy the beach, hiking, camping and Cub Scout adventures.

Ann Eanes, LPN
Certified Asthma Educator

A native to the Birmingham area and graduate of Bessemer State Technical College. Ann's nursing career began at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital where she was involved with the care of one of Alabama’s first heart transplant patients, before moving on to a career in geriatrics.

Ann joined the staff of Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center in 1988 and posses 15 years of experience in allergy and asthma. Patient care and education are Ann's area of focus. Ann works closely with our physician team and patients in order to obtain the best care plan for each patient.

Community projects include involvement in asthma screenings and asthma education for school nurses.

When time permits she enjoys reading, tennis and golf.

Jason L. Biddy, Administrator

Jason L. Biddy is the Administrator for Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center. He attended Birmingham Southern College graduating with a Bachelors degree in Biology/Psychology directed towards health care management. In addition, he also went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alabama. Jason is actively involved in both the local and state Medical Group Management Association and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Birmingham Chapter. Jason and his wife Brooke currently reside in Odenville with their two daughters Ava Reese and Ella Rae. To contact Jason, email
