History:


     In 1968, Dr. Aubrey Baugh formed his practice in Southside of Birmingham and in the early 1970’s he changed the name to Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center. Soon after, the practice was moved to Homewood. In 1995 Dr. Carolyn Comer joined the practice. Dr. Comer attended Auburn University, went to medical school at the University of South Alabama, and completed her Pediatric residency at UAB. She received her allergy training from National Jewish in Denver, Colorado and was an Associate Professor of Allergy at UAB.

     In August of 2006, Dr. Weily Soong began practice with Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center. Dr. Soong graduated from Birmingham Southern College and Medical School at UAB. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Yale University. 

     In late 2008, Alabama Allergy began our Hoover location. In January of 2009, the Hwy 280 office opened.  A year later, in 2010, Dr. Maxcie Sikora joined the practice. Dr. Sikora graduated from  Auburn and Medical School at the University of South Alabama. She completed her Residency at the University of South Florida and completed her Fellowship training at Tulane. Before coming to Alabama Allergy, Dr. Sikora worked with Ochsner Allergy Clinic in New Orleans and was an Assistant Professor of Allergy and Clinical immunology at Tulane University School of Medicine.  

     Most recently, our practice welcomed Dr. James Bonner who relocated from the Kirkland Clinic. Dr. Bonner attended Medical School at the University of Michigan and completed his Fellowship at UAB. Along with working at Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center and at the Veterans Administration Hospital, he is also a professor at the UAB School of Medicine.
